Location Drawing

The collection of work created
As part of our Process and Production Module we had to do a location drawing task around the town of Huddersfield. Each group was assigned an area of Huddersfield and then as a team it was our job to split into pairs to mark a section of a square piece of land that we could then combine to complete full circle drawing.

My particular drawing area was focused on Huddersfield Train Station. Huddersfield Train Station is one of the most iconic buildings within the Town, being constructed in 1846 in a very central location with hope that it would eventually bring business to the upcoming area of Yorkshire.

These are the two drawings I created whilst on location Drawing in Huddersfield. For this drawing I mapped out my scale using a 1:2 Scale in pencil tone, then finished in the details using a fine liner and pro-marker pens. The first image is of a quick sketch i completed before hand to get the scale and composition and the second is of a more carefully rendered piece that shows detail, line and form. I like the work I have created and I feel both examples capture the facade, moment, location and history of the Train Station which is what the task was to do.
